JET SET
On one side, the Mediterranean. On the other, the mountains closing in. The legendary Monte Carlo Country Club is a masterpiece of a venue, tucked away right in the middle of the city, and getting there was easier than we expected. Tickets, sorted online through Viagogo, no drama and not too pricey.
A VIBE
This tournament is not for the socially phobic. People cram into every corner of the intimate grounds, close enough that you feel every point land. Early morning ocean dips to wake up, quiet practice sessions before the crowds arrived, and far too many espresso shots in between.
On court, the names kept coming: Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverev, Berrettini, Moutet, Khachanov, Ruud, Fonseca. We watched Jannik Sinner operate like a total robot on his way to reclaiming the World No. 1 spot. Meanwhile, the pressure of the red clay had Medvedev completely falling apart, a 6-0, 6-0 second-round meltdown for the history books.
For any true tennis fan looking to mix top-tier athletic action with unbeatable scenery and an electric atmosphere, Monte Carlo delivers on all fronts.
