For this one, we worked with Beth Rose, a graphic designer based in East Yorkshire, England, whose work explores the electric energy of sport through bold, surreal compositions. Rather than illustrating a single photograph, she set out to capture the feeling and energy of that afternoon on Centre Court, not a frame of it, but what it felt like to be watching.
The back is a layered composition celebrating one of the defining moments in tennis history, with details hidden throughout: Church Road, Becker's iconic championship pose, Centre Court, and the famous date, 7.7.85. The front keeps it simple: the Wimbledon Gentlemen's Singles Trophy, the year 85, and Becker's nickname that needs no introduction, Boom Boom.
